TROY — The Miami Valley Veterans Museum will be moving its collection to the new location this Saturday, Oct. 10, with assistance from members of the Ohio Motor Pool.
According to a press release, OMP members volunteered to move the collection, and the organization plans to use its large military trucks and vehicles. Military trucks will stage in front of the Troy Masonic Temple, 107 W. Main St., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and will be moving the museum collection to the new location, at 2245 S. County Road 25-A.
The move is expected to end around 2 p.m., and a rain date of Saturday, Oct. 17, has been set, if needed, the release states. A hot dog lunch will be served to the Motor Pool volunteers following the move.
“We sincerely appreciate this fantastic support from the Ohio Motor Pool in support of the Miami Valley Veterans Museum during this pivotal (transition) of our museum,” said Karen Purke, executive director.
