PEEP taking registrations
TROY — Due to the high demand for the PEEP preschool program, Brukner Nature Center has added another day for its Fall PEEP Session 1. Openings are now available for Thursday PEEP class (9:30-11 a.m.) that will run from Sept. 17 to Oct. 22.
Class size will be limited to eight children and the classes will be 1.5 hours of mostly outdoor activity (always dress for the weather — raincoat, boots, jackets, etc). Staff will be following the state guidelines for COVID-19. Cost for Fall PEEP Session 1 is $55 for BNC members per child or $75 for nonmembers per child (cash or check only). Please note that PEEP is geared specifically for children ages 3-5 years old, who are potty-trained and not attending kindergarten or being home schooled in the fall.

STEM course upcoming
TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is offering a 12-week course that will walk students in grades fifth through 12th through the process it takes to conduct authentic research-based science projects.
This includes, developing and “owning” the question, researching literature, forming a hypothesis and all the steps involved down to making an oral and visual presentation. Upon conclusion of this course, students will have individualized projects they can use for multiple science/STEM competitions including the State Science Day Qualifying event.
There will be a kick-off at Monroe Township Building and each week following, the classes will alternate between live classes at the Township Building and live Zoom classes from 7-8 pm -Tuesday, Sept. 22 for 12 weeks (no class week of Nov. 23).
