ANN M. LONG

Ann Marie (Barnhart) Long, age 61, passed away peacefully July 28, 2020 due to ovarian cancer.

She was born in Troy, Ohio to Dr. William and Roselyn Barnhart.

She was married to Larry G. Long on June 14, 1980 and they recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Ann loved her children, grandchildren and sports. Her hands were rarely still. She enjoyed coaching her daughter’s softball team and cheerleader squad. She also took pleasure in fixing meals and doing things for both her children and grandchildren.

There was rarely a sporting event she would miss as she enjoyed watching her granddaughters play fast pitch softball. Ann was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and always rooted for her team on Sundays. She especially cherished her Steelers pennant signed by Franco Harris; with her favorite player being Rocky Bleier.

One of her favorite joys was to pick up the grandchildren after school, take them back to the house, and then take care of them until they were picked up by their parents.

Ann graduated from Toledo University with a degree in nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse until becoming a full-time homemaker. She always had a kind word and a smile for all she met. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Ann is survived by her husband Larry, and their children Daniel (Christina) Long, Nicole Turner, Joseph (Isaac) Garcia-Long. Also surviving her are siblings Dave (Valerie) Barnhart, Karen Phillis and Mark (Margie) Barnhart, her grandchildren, Annicia Turner, Samantha Long, Haley Lasher, Jacob Liberatore, Vanessa Long and Jaxson Turner. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Ann will be laid to rest privately at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, CA. The family invites you to view the service via Bobbitt Memorial Chapel’s Facebook page at 11 am on Friday, August 7th, 2020.
