OXFORD — A number of Miami County swimmers qualified for the state meet this week at the Canton Natatorium at the district meet at Miami University Friday and Saturday.

BEAVERCREEK — The Troy boys and girls bowling teams both finished third at the MVL tournament Saturday at Beaver Vu Lanes.

CENTERVILLE — The Piqua boys basketball team picked up its first tournament win in seven years Saturday, defeating Springboro 59-54 in Centerville D-I sectional action.

CASSTOWN — The Miami East wrestling team won the five-team Three Rivers Conference wrestling tournament Saturday, while Covington was second, Milton-Union was third and Troy Christian was fourth.

DAYTON — The Troy hockey team won a 4-3 thriller in overtime in the SWOSHL semifinals Saturday.

Miami County had a number of swimmers and divers qualify for district at the sectional meets over the weekend.

TROY — The Piqua girls basketball team knew what they were up against Monday night when the Indians faced second seed Springboro in Troy D-I sectional action.

VANDALIA — The Tippecanoe boys basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Vandalia-Butler Friday night on the road.
