TROY — In the Troy boys D-I district track and field Wednesday night at Troy Memorial Stadium, Devon Strobel broke a 45-year old Troy school record in advancing to the regionals in the discus and the Tippecanoe and Piqua 3,200 relays, Troy’s Ethan Martin and Tippecanoe’s Oliver Murray in the pole vault and Tippecanoe’s Stanley Clyne and Piqua’s Colten Beougher in the long jump all advanced as well.

TROY — Troy’s Tatyana Green and Kiyah Baker advanced on to regionals in the shot put, Tippecanoe’s Alissa Magato advanced in the high jump and the Tippecanoe and Troy 3,200 relay teams advanced as well Wednesday night on the opening night of the D-I district track and field meet at Troy Memorial Stadium.

BRADFORD — In a game that went down to the last pitch, fourth seeded Bradford scored a run in the home seventh to break a 1-1 tie and beat ninth seed Covington 2-1 Wedneday in D-IV sectional action.

COVINGTON — The Covington softball team cruised to a 14-0 win over Tri-County North in five innings a D-IV district semifinal Tuesday at Covington High School.

PIQUA — In a wild game at Hardman Field Tuesday in D-I sectional action, seventh seed Piqua opened an 8-0 lead over Northmont after five innings, then need a walk-off run on a wild pitch in the home eighth inning to come away with a 9-8 victory.

TROY — In a tournament tuneup, the Troy baseball team lost to Chaminade-Julienne 4-2 in nine innings Monday at the Market Street diamond.

CASSTOWN — It was deja vu for the Miami East softball team in a D-III district semifinal Monday at Miami East High School against Springfield Shawnee.

VANDALIA — The Troy baseball team lost to Cincinnati St. Xavier 14-8 in the PBR Classic Saturday.

The Miami East boys and Milton-Union girls won the TRC track and field meet.
