CASSTOWN — William Merwin Butler, CMSgt, USAF Retired, age 76 of Casstown, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021, as a result of complications from COVID. He was born October 25, 1944 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late E. Merwin and Wilma Duke Butler. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, John D. Butler.

HUBER HEIGHTS — John L. Whetstone, age 82, of Huber Heights, Ohio, formerly of Lima and Tipp City, Ohio died Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Dayspring of Miami Valley, Fairborn, Ohio. Born August 20, 1938 in Bluffton, Ohio to LeRoy and Helena (Burtchin) Whetstone, who precede him in death.

PIQUA — Kenneth D. Sholley, age 85, of Piqua, passed away on February 23, 2021. A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua.

COVINGTON — Pamela Jean (Davis) Rue, age 60 of Covington, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at her home.

CLARKSVILLE, VA — Thomas Edward Hill, of Clarksville, VA, passed away February 22, 2021, at Duke University Medical Center. He was born in Troy, Ohio, on December 1, 1950, to the late Richard Glenn and LulaMae Hays Hill.

PIQUA — Beverly “Jean” Bryant, 81, of Piqua passed away peacefully at 5:52 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Hospice Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born July 20, 1939 in Piqua to the late James and Velma (Rich) Finfrock.

COVINGTON — Richard D. Cool, age 81, formerly of Covington, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Koester Pavilion, Troy.

TROY — Larry Berton Smith, age 83, of Troy, OH, passed away on February 23, 2021 at Koester Pavilion. Larry was born on April 7, 1937 in Troy to the late Richard Wesley and Vulah Irene (Price) Smith.

TROY — Leroy (Lee) Darrell Roth, age 79, of Troy, OH passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born on April 28, 1941 in Morgantown, WV to the late Darrell Gordon and Marie (Harsh) Roth.
