Jackson Lambert, a student at the Upper Valley Career Center was selected to represrnt Piqua American Legion Post 184 at Buckeye Boys State this summer.

Piqua American Legion Post 184 presented the 2023 Americanism Awards during a ceremony at the post on Monday, April 17, 2023. This year’s winners included, Kaitlyn Schlosser and Johnny Ward, PHS 9th grade; Ashlyn Gearhardt and Braden Holtvogt, PHS 10th grade; Marin Funderburg and Aiden Williams, PHS 11tj grade’ Savannah Cox and Jordan Slife, PHS 12th grade; Samantha Marlow (Sidney) and Joshua Schilling (Troy), UVCC 11th grade; Alexis Torovio (Jackson Center) and Zachary Burton (Jackson Center), UVCC 12th grade.

PIQUA — Blood usage has been high in the month of April. Help replenish the spring blood supply by donating at the Piqua Harley-Davidson community blood drive Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1501 E. Ash St., Piqua.

TROY — 2023 will bring another excellent season of concerts to Treasure Island Park! All concerts are free and open to the public at Treasure Island Park, 409 N Elm St.

TROY — Mayor Robin Oda has announced the “Look Who Is Recycling” award winner for the first quarter of 2023. Rumpke of Ohio, Inc., the City’s curbside recycling contractor, runs the program as a tool to encourage residential recycling. Awards are given quarterly to City of Troy residents who actively recycle and share their reasons for doing so.

TIPP CITY — Tipp City Schools will be closed on Friday, April 21, due to the high number staff members requesting off to attend the funeral of Tippecanoe senior Carson Robbins.

DAYTON — National Lineman Appreciation Day is celebrated each year on April 18 and honors the hard work, innovation and dedication of America’s electrical lineworkers.
