Main Street Greenville rebrands farmer’s market

GREENVILLE — What was the “Farmer’s Market” will now be the “Community Market.” The downtown market has been a Darke County staple since 1998, but it’s no secret it was in need of a revamp. After speaking with several vendors and patrons about the event it was determined that positive changes were needed. In addition to the name change Main Street’s Board of Trustees voted to approve the following at their May meeting: the Community Market will run on Saturday’s form June 3 to Oct. 7. The market is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday at the corner of Main and Broadway and the Rotary Park on the Circle

LIMA — One of the two inmates who had escaped from the Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution has been recaptured in Kentucky, while the other eluded capture in Kentucky and remains at large.

This year’s music series will aim to raise awareness and money for a local non-profit, the Miami County Local Food Council.
