Restaurant inspections

Inspections provided by the Miami County Public Health Department.

Sept. 18

• Future 4 Families, 840 Arthur Drive, Troy — Corrected During Inspection; Critical: Refrigerated, ready-to-eat, TCS foods not properly date marked. Observed multiple food items without a date mark. Upon making PIC aware food items were either date marked or discarded.

• Bob Evans, 1749 W. Main St., Troy — Repeat: Utensils and equipment contacting non-TCS foods not cleaned at required frequency. Observed nozzles to tea dispensers and dispensing units when nozzles were removed from pop machine near the checkout area with a slight build-up. Ensure these surfaces are cleaned more frequently and by use of methods to prevent these accumulations.

Critical; Repeat: Presence of live insects, rodents, and other pests. Observed undercounter cabinetry areas to floor drains with a congregation of pests. Clean and remove standing water and build-ups in these areas to better prevent conditions for pests to thrive.

Repeat: Non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean. Observed the non-food contact surfaces of the tray holder and the undercounter cabinet in the waitress station area, the stainless steel mug holders under the juice/coffee station and the surfaces underneath the reach-in holding cabinets across from the grill line with a build-up of food debris and other residues. Ensure non-food contact surfaces are being cleaned more frequently to prevent these accumulations.

Repeat: Non-food contact surface(s) not cleaned at the required frequency. Observed microwave ovens with a build-up of food debris on the interior surfaces, especially on the top portions of the microwaves. Clean these surfaces more frequently to prevent debris from entering products undergoing microwave cooking.

Critical; Repeat: Insufficient air gap between the flood rim and the water supply inlet. Observed pop machine needing a more sufficient air-gap. Discussed drain shall have an adequate air-gap not less than 1” above the flood rim level of the floor drain to prevent potential backflow contamination into the system.

Repeat: Physical facilities not maintained in good repair. Grout in the warewashing area observed to be severely breaking down, holding food debris and excessive water. Replace grouting in this area to facilitate proper cleaning and to prevent conditions for pests.

Repeat: Facility not maintained clean. Observed a build-up on the floors near floor drains, along the walls and in the grout in the walk-cooler, and behind and underneath the grill line. Ensure the physical facilities are being cleaned more frequently to prevent a build-up and to prevent conditions for pests.

• Weldy’s Dairy Bar, 218 S. Miami Ave., Bradford — No violations were documented at the time of inspection.

• Rosebud’s Real Food, 122 W. High St., Piqua — Satisfactory at time of inspection. Be sure to wash hands often before putting on gloves, after handling money, after breaks, etc.
