PIQUA — A Piqua man was seriously injured after he was run over by the driver of a Jeep late Friday evening.
Lt. Jeremy Weber of the Piqua Police Department said the incident began as a disturbance and escalated in to a physical altercation.
Piqua officers responded to an address in the 1500 block of Nicklin Ave. around 11:30 p.m.after Matt Gambill, 51, of Piqua, was allegedly run over by the driver of a Jeep following a disturbance.
Gambill was transported by Piqua Fire Department medics to Upper Valley Medical Center where the medic unit was met by CareFlight and flown to Miami Valley Hospital, where he remains hospitalized. He reportedly suffered broken bones and other serious injuries.
A second individual was also struck as he attempted to flee the scene.
The suspect in the case, Blake Curtis, 26, turned himself in to Piqua Police, through his attorney, on Monday morning, according to Deputy Piqua Police Chief Marty Grove, and was transported to the Miami County Jail where he is facing two counts of felonious assault.
Piqua police are continuing their investigation.
