Piqua Police Department reports

Oct. 14

FRAUD: A business at 317 N. Main St. reported an order was fraudulently placed and the equipment was shipped and picked up by a subject before the order could be canceled and shipment could be stopped.

SUSPICIOUS: Officer responded to report of a domestic situation in the 700 block of Gordon St. Female subject reported a male subject hit her in the face. Officer spoke with both subjects who advised the male tripped and accidentally hit the female while falling.

Oct. 15

DISORDERLY: Female that was under the influence stated there were people following her. Female was advised no one was following her and she needed to stop doing drugs. Female was warned for disorderly conduct.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Officer responded to a call at 222 E. Garnsey St. referencing political signs being pulled out of a yard. The signs were not damaged and the owner had video. The suspect could not be identified from the video.

UNRULY JUVENILE: Caller reported her juvenile son left without permission and took the caller’s car. Car was back at the residence, in the 1700 block of DuBois Drive, upon officer arrival and vehicle was found to be involved in a hit/skip that had been reported. Juvenile was located and charged accordingly.

HIT/SKIP: Vehicle was struck on 1107 Park Ave. sometime during the morning hours. Suspect vehicle was located and driver was charged with hit-skip, no operator’s license, and failure to maintain control.

SUSPICIOUS: Officer responded to a call at 1584 Covington Ave. referencing birds flying around an area. The caller was concerned there could be a dead body. The area was checked, no birds and no dead body was located.

ASSIST: Report of a subject stuck in an elevator at the Piqua Public Library, 116 W. High St. Subject was able to get out prior to police and fire response.

SUSPICIOUS: Caller reported subjects living in a tent on the property at 612 Adams St. without permission to do so. Contact was made with a female who advised they were not living in the tent. Subject was told to move the tent since they did not have permission.

CRASH: Officer responded to area near 311 Drafthouse, at 311 N. Main St., for a one-vehicle crash referencing a vehicle crashing into a flower pot. OH-1 report was completed.

HARASSMENT: Subject stated his ex continues to contact him even after blocking multiple numbers. Officer unable to make contact with the female.
