Annual Dettmer Reunion Cancelled

TROY — Due to the Covid-19 restrictions it is not feasible for Koester Pavilion to host its annual reunion event this year. Organizers said they are “grateful for all of the attendees over the past 33 years. And we are thankful for Koester’s work in hosting us for the past several years. We will miss seeing each other.” The event is expected to continue in 2021.

Fall 2020 recipients of the Residence Pride Awards

PIQUA — Piqua City Commission has announced the Fall 2020 recipients of the Residence Pride Awards. The Residence Pride Committee met and selected award winners from the nominations received as follows: Logan and Abby Peepels – 919 Lincoln Street; Amy Walker – 600 Cottage Avenue; Ron and Debra Anthony – 117 Riverside Drive; Michael and Angela Yager – 1621 W. High Street; Chuck and Peggy Hoke – 209 S. Downing Street

Pleasant Hill VFW to host upcoming dinners

PLEASANT HILL — The Pleasant Hill VFW 6557 will offer a dinner on the following weekends for dine-in or carry out:

Saturday, Oct. 24 — T-Bone steak with baked potato, salad, and a roll for $15 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 30 — Choice of 3 pieces of fish for $8, 21 pieces of shrimp for $8 or a combination of 1 piece of fish and 21 pieces of shrimp for $9. Froglegs for $12. All served with french fries and coleslaw from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
