Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:

Sept. 25

TRAILER STOLEN: A 7’x16’ black open trailer with attached ramps, Harley Davidson stickers on each wheel well, and a black toolbox on the tongue was listed as being stolen from the property on Piqua-Troy Road. This case is pending further investigation.

ESCAPE: A deputy responded to the Miami County Incarceration Facility in reference to an inmate failing to return to the Miami County Jail after being granted a temporary furlough. Charles Yousseff was charged with a fifth-degree felony escape.

Sept 26.

SUSPICIOUS: A deputy spoke with the reporting party in reference to a possible burglary in the 7000 block of Palmer Road, Bethel Twp. The reporting party stated that between 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. someone attempted to enter a detached garage without success. No damage was done.

CAR TROUBLES: Deputies responded to a residence in the Newberry Twp. in reference to a theft of money while purchasing a car without a valid title. All parties agreed to work together with the original title owner to get the victim her title or else she would get her money back. The parties involved wished for this to remain a civil issue at this time.

Sept. 27

THEFT: A deputy responded to a theft complaint and contacted the reporting party by phone. It was reported that $88,000 had been transferred online from an IRA account to a third party checking account. The fraud department of the financial company handling the IRA is currently investigating the transaction. This case is pending further investigation.

Sept. 29

A deputy spoke with Bethel Twp.’s Best Storage manager regarding a storage unit tenant possibly sleeping at the business. She provided the name Kimberly Nath of Medway and advised Kimberly was not currently at the business. Nath was found to have felony warrants out of Clark County with an in-state pickup. She advised that she will call into dispatch if she sees Kimberly at the business in the future.

Sept. 30

THEFT: The Casstown Cemetery caretaker advised deputies that residents have been reported items missing from the area. Extra patrols were requested.

FRAUD: A Washington Twp. a resident reported someone was using her credit card in California and New York.

WARRANT: Deputies observed Kevin Hughes leaving SubHouse and had an active arrest warrant related to an indictment from a narcotics-related search warrant from last March. Hughes was placed into custody and booked into jail. He was in possession of two cell phones and $1,718 in cash.

Oct. 1

RECKLESS COMPLAINT: A deputy responded to the area of County Road 25-A and the Farrington Road interchange on an accident report. One of the vehicles involved had been reported previously for reckless driving. A voluntary blood sample was collected by one of the drivers who was apparently under the influence. That subject was released from the hospital without further incident.

ACCIDENT: A deputy responded to the 3200 block of Tipp Cowelsville Road, Monroe Twp. for a single-vehicle crash without injury. Randall Marion was charged with OVI and failure to control.
