Piqua boys tie West Carrollton: Tuesday soccer roundup

PIQUA — Piqua’s boys soccer team returned home Tuesday after picking up its first win of the season last week at Xenia, but the Indians couldn’t string together a winning streak, battling West Carrollton to a 4-4 tie.

Nick Heath had two goals, Nathan Buecker had a goal and two assists and Dezmond Warner had a goal for the Indians (1-3-1), who travel to Stebbins Thursday.

TROY — Troy Christian — which entered the Division III state poll tied for No. 1 — defeated Metro Buckeye Conference rival Yellow Springs 7-1 Tuesday on Senior Night.

Ty Davis had two goals and three assists to lead the undefeated Eagles (6-0, 2-0 MBC), while Nelson Lair, Josh Brubaker, Evan Murphy, Alex Free and Hunter Williams each added a goal.

Troy Christian travels to Miami East Saturday.

VANDALIA — Troy’s Gavin Marshall scored the lone goal in a battle of unbeatens Tuesday as the Trojans (5-0) knocked off Butler 1-0 on the road.

Troy hosts 4-0-1 Sidney Thursday night.

GREENVILLE — Owen Hadden had two goals and two assists and Jackson Kleather had two goals, leading Tippecanoe (5-0) to a 7-0 victory Tuesday at Greenville.

Evan Stonerock added a goal and three assists, Gavin Darner and Owen Trimble each had a goal and Collin Hanrahan had an assist.

JAMESTOWN — Cole Brannan scored the game-tying goal on an assist fron Jaiden Hogge with 10 minutes remaining as Bethel (2-2-2) battled non-league rival Greeneview (0-3-1) to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night on the road.

WEST MILTON — The Lehman girls soccer team snapped Milton-Union’s three-game winning streak Tuesday, holding on for a 3-2 victory.

Ella Black and Eva and Noelle Dexter each scored a goal for Lehman (6-1). Morgan Grudich had a goal and an assist, Rachel Jacobs had a goal and Aulbrey Hergenrather had an assist for the Bulldogs (3-3).
