TROY — Agave & Rye, a modern tequila and bourbon hall, will open in downtown Troy this fall.
Originally based in Covington, Ky., with restaurants in Louisville, Lexington, and Liberty Township, Agave & Rye is making moves to open two additional locations in Ohio, as well as one in Indiana, according to a press release.
In Troy, the restaurant will be located at 2 N. Market St., in the building that formerly housed La Piazza. The location will feature an outdoor patio and vintage arcades, as well as signature artwork featuring local artists.
“We are looking forward to bringing our restaurant and vibrant energy to more communities throughout Ohio and Indiana,” founder and CEO Yavonne Sarber said. “It’s always our goal to integrate within the community, treating it as if it’s our home.”
Agave & Rye boasts a Mexican-inspired menu, with street food favorites, along with a distinctive style.
“Each restaurant has an aesthetic that is unique to its location, bringing its own feel from the surrounding community to blend both Agave & Rye and the city together into one epic experience,” the press release states. “Agave & Rye’s concept walks an intriguing line between fine art and street art, which gives it the feel of ‘urban grunge’ with an eclectic mix of music that spans everything from ‘80s pop hits to today’s essential tracks.”
Integral to Agave & Rye’s menu are the chef-inspired “epic tacos,” including The Mac Daddy taco filled with braised pork butt, roasted corn pudding, sweet and spicy bacon, bourbon maple butter and “cowboy candy,” as well as The Crown Jewel, made with butter-poached lobster, sauteed portabellas, mac n’ cheese, truffle oil and shavings, and shaved green onions, among many others.
The menu also includes multiple varieties of tortilla chips and salsas/guacamole/cheese dip, side dishes and appetizers, two types of tortas and bowls, a house salad, and desserts. There are gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options.
Drinks will include signature cocktails, draft and canned beers, wine, White Claw, and extensive lists of tequila and bourbon.
Troy’s Agave & Rye is set to open in October, though and exact date has yet to be announced.
