ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP — A crash involving a semi-tractor trailer and a SUV resulted in two injuries on Wednesday afternoon.

First Responders were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 41 and State Route 201 around 12:50 p.m.on the report of the crash.

While units were enroute to the crash, another minor crash happened at the same intersection. No one was injured in that crash although a citation was issued to one of the drivers.

Responding units included Miami County Sheriff’s Deputies, Casstown Fire Department, and medics from Elizabeth Township and New Carlisle.

The impact of the crash caused the trailer to detach from the semi, and the semi ran approximately 100 yards into a field. The SUV came to rest just off the highway on St. Rt. 201, on the north side of St. Rt. 41.

The drivers of both vehicles sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals. None of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening.

The drivers’ names have not been released.

The crash is under investigation by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
