God’s Table planned

PIQUA — Westminster Presbyterian Church in Piqua will be handing out free bag lunches this month for God’s Table on Saturday, Aug. 15. The menu includes a ham and cheese sandwich, macaroni salad, fruit and a cookie. Please enter the Caldwell entrance to the parking lot starting at 11:30 a.m.

True Life services, in person or online

TROY – Join True Life Community Church for the August sermon series, “Urban Legends – Debunking Spiritual Myths.”

The community is always welcome; TLC will open its doors this Sunday with their worship service starting at 10 a.m. Masks are now mandatory in Ohio and must be worn indoors. You can also live stream this service on Facebook. The public is invited to join as they stand together in worship.

Rummage sale planned

TROY — Trinity Episcopal Church, 60 South Dorset Rd., Troy, is having a rummage sale with proceeds donated to the Torrence Medical Fund.

The Torrence Medical Fund, Health Partners, the Miami County Dental Clinic, and Partners in Hope operate with the shared concept that encourages recipients to reclaim charge of their own lives. The fund provides financial assistance to meet a legitimate but unaffordable medical need in conjunction with critical life skill counseling.

Weather permitting, the sale will be held outside at the northwest side of the church on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21-22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

First Lutheran services

TROY — First Lutheran Church of Troy is back to public worship and invites the community to weekly worship services on Sundays at 10 a.m.

All are welcome. Vivian House serves as lector for the month of August. Pastor Holst presides and preaches on the Gospel of Matthew the 14th Chapter. They are celebrating the sacrament of Holy Communion.

Back to School: All students and teachers, including homeschooling parents and school staff members, will be covered in prayer and sent off with a special blessing.

Looking ahead, on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. will be a praise worship service

On Saturday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. a gospel campfire outdoor service will be held. All are welcome to bring a lawn chair, as they are gathering around the cross singing good old gospel songs, sharing stories of faith, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows around the fire pit and have a good time.

They are applying the rules of social distancing, including wearing masks, sanitizing, and spacing between the seats.

AA-Open Group will be held at 6 a.m. on Mondays, and AA- Men’s Group will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays.

Covington Christian Church Salad Luncheon Drive-Thru

COVINGTON — Stop by the Covington Christian Church Women’s Fellowship Salad Luncheon Drive Thru on Friday, Aug. 21 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or until everything is gone.

Enter their drive thru in the alley off of Pearl Street next to Covington Christian Church, and they will deliver two containers full of their more popular salads including their signature hot chicken salad and desserts all for donation to your car. All meals will be prepackaged and ready for pickup. They will not be taking special requests at this time.

Supplies will be limited so come early or stop by the church office to preorder and leave your donation to guarantee you don’t miss out.
