TROY — CareFlight was called to the scene of a crash involving a pickup truck and a large commercial truck on South Market Street just south of West Market Street around 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon.
Troy Police Captain Zac Mumford said that the pickup truck was northbound on South Market Street when the driver crossed left of center, striking the commercial truck on the drivers side, just behind the cab.
The impact spun the pickup truck and trapped the driver. Troy Fire Department requested all available on-duty personnel to respond to the scene to aide in extricating the driver. CareFlight was requested and a landing zone established on South Market Street.
The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.
The pickup truck driver was transported to Miami Valley Hospital aboard the medical helicopter.
Mumford said that an onboard dash camera in the commercial truck recorded the crash.
The drivers’ names have not been released.
South Market Street was reopened to traffic at 4:15 p.m.
The crash is under investigation by Troy Police Department.
