Phones may be interrupted

TROY — Due to scheduled maintenance, phone lines at Troy City offices may be down intermittently during Aug. 17-19.

These upgrades are expected to take no more than one to two hours per location.

Road closure planned

MIAMI COUNTY — Penny Road will be closed for culvert replacement starting Tuesday, Aug. 18, at noon through Friday, Aug. 21, at 2:30 p.m. The location of the closure is between Stichter Road and State Route 48.

Tree program planned

TROY — Host Bob Graeser, project manager for the city of Piqua, will speak about urban forestry in a program titled, “Trees in the Landscape,” how it benefits the communities we live in and how trees increase the quality of life in our region at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4 on Zoom. The program is sponsored by the Miami County Master Gardeners.

September Coffee Series topic. Once registered you will receive an email with the information on how to connect for this event. Deadline to register for “Trees” is Wednesday, Sept. 2 at go.osu.edu/miamicoffee.

Veterans event scheduled

TROY — The Miami Valley Veterans Museum wil offer its monthly coffee and doughnuts event at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2. First responders are invited to visit the museum at its new location, 2245 County Road 25-A, Troy.

The museum will host local, community, county, and regional first responders as honored guests. Firefighters, police officers, state patrol officers, emergency medical personnel, paramedics, rescue squads and all those who strengthen the community will be honored for their service and love for the people they serve.

The museum is actively seeking donors of all kinds to contribute to a capital campaign to raise funds for the new museum project. This includes monetary donations, in-kind services, sponsorships, building materials, heavy equipment work, volunteers, and volunteer teams who would like to assist in the project.

COVID-19 relief offered

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services and the Tipp Foundation have established a COVID-19 Fund to assist local residents of Tipp City, Monroe and Bethel Townships with rent, utilities or prescriptions.

If you have received community relief help in the past from TMCS, you are still eligible to receive this one-time assistance from this designated fund. This relief fund will be open until funds are depleted. If you need assistance with rent or utilities, visit tmcomservices.org and click on the red “COVID RelieF” button to print an application. Fill out the application before bringing your photo ID and your lease or utility bill to the TMCS office.

If you are requesting prescription assistance, you need to ask Hock’s or CVS to fax the office your prescription information before staff can complete your request. The fax number is (937) 667-4003.
