Historic aircraft donated to Armstrong Museum

Fairborn native and former NASA astronaut Greg Johnson participates in a champagne toast with Mark and Rick Armstrong, sons of Neil Armstrong at the Neil Armstrong Airport on Wednesday after Armstrong’s Learjet that the National Aviation Hall of Fame enshrinee flew to at least five world record flights in the late 1970s, made its final flight before being donated to the Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapakoneta.

A Learjet 28 in which former NASA astronaut and first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong flew to set five world aviation records makes its final flight as it prepared to land at Neil Armstrong/Auglaize County Regional Airport on Wednesday. The aircraft is being donated to the Armstrong Air & Space Museum where it will go on permanent display.
