TROY —Troy police have identified the male subject who apparently drowned in the Great Miami River on Sunday morning.
According to Capt. Shawn McKinney of the Troy Police Department, the 77 year-old old white male has been identified by family members. The name of the deceased was not available, but family members have been notified. No foul play is suspected. The man’s family stated to police he had been released from a hospital on Saturday and was being treated for mental distress. The man’s body was transported to the Montgomery County Crime Lab for an autopsy.
A man riding a bicycle on the south side of the river spotted the man’s body in the water near the dam late Sunday morning.
