West Milton man charged with rape

WEST MILTON — A West Milton man was arraigned on several rape charges in Miami County Municipal Court on Monday.

Drayden Sanders, 19, was arrested by West Milton Police Department on Saturday.

Sanders has been charged with 19 counts of various sex offenses including seven first-degree felony rape charges, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, gross sexual imposition, importuning, forcible gross sexual imposition, all third degree felonies and fourth degree felony gross sexual imposition.

His bond was set for $445,000 cash or surety. He remains incarcerated at the Miami County Jail.

The reported incidents occurred at Sandy Point, an area along the Stillwater River at the West Milton Municipal Park, as well as one of the victim’s home. There were two female victims, age 12 and 13. According to reports, Saunders admitted to committing several of the alleged acts to police when he was questioned.

According to West Milton Police Department reports, Sanders allegedly met the victims at the park to swim with others around June 6. Sanders allegedly asked one female victim, age 13, to go for a walk in the woods where a number of alleged sexual acts occurred and the victim told him to stop. They rejoined the group where another female, age 12, alleged Sanders touched her in a sexual manner while sitting on the beach area. In an interview with police, Sanders said one of the victims, age 13, “begged him” to perform oral sex. One of the victim’s allegedly tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease contracted during the allegedly incident. Other alleged incidents reportedly took place at the home.

Several other teens at the scene were questioned on what they witnessed during the swimming incident where Sanders was groping one of the victims and one of the others told him to stop.
