Information filed by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:
THEFT: A deputy responded to the Miami County Incarceration Facility in reference to a theft complaint. After investigation, Destin Jenkins admitted to using another’s pin number to make phone calls without permission to do so. Destin Jenkins was charged with theft.
TRUMP FLAG GONE: A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of Michaels Road, Monroe Twp., on a criminal damaging complaint. A sign supporting Donald Trump was ripped from the pole.
THEFT: A deputy was dispatched to the 9000 block of Piqua Lockington Road, Springcreek Twp., on a burglary not in progress. After further investigation it was found that an unknown person entered the structure through an open area of the barn and took a trail camera and a hand ax.
FIELD DAMAGE: Reporting party advised he had 5-10 acres of soybeans damaged by unknown subjects riding ATV’s through the field in the 7000 block of Lostcreek Shelby, Brown Twp. He requested a report only at this time.
FIREWORKS SENDS ONE TO ER: A deputy was dispatched to the 10000 block of Covington Bradford, Newberry Twp., in reference to an adult male who sustained injuries to his face caused by fireworks. The male was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center by squad.
FIREWORKS COMPLAINT: A deputy responded to the 6000 block of Troy Frederick Road, Monroe Twp., on a fireworks complaint. The reporting party stated his neighbor was shooting off fireworks, which caused his horse to run through a fence and injure itself. The reporting party wanted the incident documented for insurance purposes.
OD ON BIKE: A deputy was dispatched to 4220 West State Route 40, Bethel Twp., on a medic assist. A white male was laying in the roadway unconscious. It was later found that the male subject had overdosed and fell off of the bicycle that he was riding.
MEDS MISSING: A resident in the 5000 block of State Route 571, Bethel Twp., reported prescription medication missing from the residence.
DRUGS: A deputy was dispatched to the Miami County Jail in reference to a drug offense reported. An inmate brought in was found to have a drug like substance on his person. The substance was sent to the crime lab for results.
MAILBOX DESTROYED: Deputies noticed what looked as if a residen’ts mailbox has been destroyed in the 700 block of Michaels Road, Monroe Twp. After investigation it was determined that some type of explosive device was set in the mailbox and set off. Fragments of the mailbox were spread across the yard. The owner stated he wanted a report just in case if any other mailboxes had been blown up in the area.
KAYAKS GONE:A deputy was dispatched to the Great Miami Adventures for a theft complain. Upon further investigation, it was reported that two brand new Sundolphin kayaks were stolen after they fell off the company’s trailer that was driving down Ross Road.
ASSIST RESIDENT: A resident in the 4000 block of Ross Road, Bethel Twp. requested a welfare check on a male who came to their house saying his girlfriend made him get of of her car and walk. The deputy located the male near 7570 S. State Route 202 and he was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. The male was arrested for his warrant from Montgomery County. The male was later released from custody per Montgomery County since he was at the hospital.
THEFT: Credit cards were reported stolen out of a vehicle at the Miami County Y Robinson branch.
DRUGS FOUND: A deputy was dispatched to Upper Valley Medical Center in reference to a drug offense. Upper Valley Security advised that Medical Staff had removed a camera film canister from Drexil Adkins rectal cavity. The canister contained a white chalk substance that appeared to be suspected drugs. The suspected drugs will be sent to the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab for further testing. No charges were filed at this time.
