PIQUA — Information is provided by the Piqua Police Department.
FIREWORKS COMPLAINT: A subject reported several subjects setting off fireworks in the alley behind a residence on the 800 block of Brice Avenue at approximately 6:45 a.m. No violations were observed, and subjects were advised to stay away from the caller’s residence.
DISTURBANCE: A subject reportedly threatened his live-in girlfriend and another subject with a crowbar during an argument at 10 a.m. on the 100 block of Janet Drive. Scott J. Carnes, Jr., 36, of Piqua, was charged with second-degree misdemeanor obstructing official business and fourth-degree misdemeanor domestic violence.
HIT SKIP: A parked vehicle was struck by another vehicle sometime in the last day on the 500 block of Miami Street. The incident was reported at 3 p.m.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of a vehicle hitting the caller’s mailbox and not stopping at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the 1400 block of Echo Lake Drive. No damage was done to the mailbox.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Subjects drove past a house and a subject punched a car at approximately 4:40 p.m. on the 500 block of South Downing Street. No damage was done to the vehicle. Case is pending.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of a male cussing and kicking at passing vehicles at approximately 5:45 p.m. in the area of Armory Drive and East Ash Street. The male was located and warned for disorderly conduct.
ACCIDENT: There was a traffic accident with no injuries reported at approximately 7 p.m. on the 1300 block of Covington Avenue.
ASSAULT: A male with mental health issues made homicidal and suicidal statements at approximately 7 p.m. on the 700 block of Lindsey Street. The male then damaged a patrol vehicle and assaulted an officer. Jamar T. Kirtz, 24, of Piqua, was charged with fifth-degree felony vandalism and two counts of fourth-degree felony assault in connection with this incident.
RECKLESS OPERATION: A complainant advised she witnessed a red Pontiac pass her and almost strike someone at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the area of South and Main streets. An officer spoke with the registered owner and a subject who advised he regularly drives the vehicle. They were both made aware of the complaint.
TRESPASSING: An officer located three subjects at an outdoor patio area the city of Piqua owns on the 100 block of West High Street at approximately 8:45 p.m. They were warned for trespassing and left the area.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of a male subject wearing black hoodie, black sweatpants, and black shoes reportedly looking in window of a house on the 1700 block of Williams Place at 1:40 a.m. There was a female subject wearing all black with the male. The subjects were not located.
WARRANT: Dennis W. McDaniel, 54, of Troy, was picked up on a warrant for fifth-degree felony unauthorized use a motor vehicle.
WARRANT: Daniel K. Roth, 34, of Piqua, was picked up on a warrant for first-degree misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and fourth-degree misdemeanor criminal trespass.
HIT SKIP: A subject stated that while he was in a local restaurant, his vehicle was struck, causing damage. This was reported at 8:20 a.m. on the 200 block of North Main Street. The suspect vehicle left the scene.
THEFT: A subject reported a theft that had occurred while he was out of town between June 22-24. Two lawnmowers were stolen from the 300 block of West North Street.
ACCIDENT: There was a report of a one-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at around noon in the area of East Garnsey and Staunton streets. The rider sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to the hospital by his father. The rider was cited for a moving violation.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of a disturbance at a residence on the 100 block of Janet Drive at 1 p.m. Two males were fighting. Scott J. Carnes, Jr., 36, of Piqua, and Derrick J. Tennery, 35, of Sidney, were cited with minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: An officer was dispatched to the Red Roof Inn and Suites for a criminal damage report at 5:50 p.m. Victim stated she believes someone slashed her tire.
ANIMAL COMPLAINT: There was a report of an animal complaint at 9 p.m. on the 1100 block of Walker Street. Dispatch advised someone’s dog attacked another dog. Meghann R. Voskuhl, 29, was cited for misdemeanor dogs running at large.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS HARASSMENT: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Beverly Drive for a telecommunications harassment complaint at 10 p.m. Victim advised she was texted by another female who had already been warned for telecommunications harassment. Karla K. Jones, 29, of Alvarado, Texas, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor telecommunications harassment.
FIREWORKS COMPLAINT: An anonymous caller advised of fireworks being set off in area of the 1100 block of Chevy Lane at 10:40 p.m. A suspect was warned for setting off fireworks.
THEFT: A complainant reported her prescription medicine had been stolen at 11:10 p.m. on the 600 block of South Street.
