Roads to close

TROY — Atlantic, Jefferson, and Fountain streets will be closed to through traffic from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, June 29 for asphalt paving.

Madison and Washington streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 30 also for asphalt paving.

YMCA to host swim strokes clinic

TROY — The Miami County YMCA Robinson Branch will be holding swim stroke clinics every Tuesday and Thursday in July beginning July 7 from 7-8 p.m. The clinic is open for member and nonmember registration. Space is limited, so participants are encouraged to register early.

Parents are asked to bring a swim suit, goggles, and towels for their swimmers to the program. If they have their own kickboards and pull buoys, they are encouraged to bring those and other competitive equipment as well. All other equipment will be provided by the Miami County YMCA. Sign language class offfered

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is offering a sign language class for children and parents. In each class, students will learn the items listed below and 25 additional random words needed for the last class. The instructor is Samantha Graybill. It will be beneficial for both to take the class so that the parent will know what the child is learning and can practice together. The classes run from 6-7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays beginning July 27 for three weeks.

The cost for the class is $68 resident, $70 nonresident for one adult and one child. Additional siblings are an additional $38 resident and $40 nonresident. To register and pay, visit tmcomservices.org. The class will be in person at the TMCS Building located at 3 E. Main St., Tipp City.

The course schedule is as follows: first class: Alphabet A-M; second class: Alphabet; N-Z; third class: Numbers; fourth class: Colors; fifth class: Time and days of the week; sixth class: Short Sentences.
