Bluffton confers degrees

BLUFFTON — Four local students recently graduated from Bluffton University.

Karissa Allen, of Covington, earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a coaching minor.

Faith Sherman, of Piqua, earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics.

Caleb Heilman, of Tipp City, earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration and sport management.

Kaylie Marshall, of Troy, earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a coaching minor.

Dornbusch graduates from Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. — Bailey Dornbusch, 2016 graduate of Troy High School, recently graduated from Anderson University in a virtual graduation ceremony.

Dornbusch received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, and she graduated Magna Cum Laude for a cumulative grade point average above 3.8. Dornbusch was also named to the dean’s list every semester for the past four years.

Dornbusch played soccer at AU as a starting defensive center back for the Ravens, serving as team captain for the past two seasons and receiving several team and Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference League awards throughout her four years for her contributions both athletically and academically.

ONU announces dean’s list

ADA — Ohio Northern University recently announced its dean’s list for the spring semester.

Local students named to the list include Mitchell Colvin, of Tipp City; Haley Dotson, of Piqua; Abigail Evans, of Troy; Cade Harshbarger, of Covington; Zachary Kiss, of Troy; Dylan Magoto, of Troy; Elisa Martinez, of Bradford; Trevor Miller, of Covington; Samuel Pencil, of Tipp City; Nicholas Pratt Troy, of Troy; Andrew Slusher, of Covington; and Whitney Snider, of Troy.

Gillespie graduates from University of Saint Marys

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — Marcella Gillespie recently graduated from the University of Saint Marys, earning a Master of Business Administration.

Peters named to UC dean’s list

CINCINNATI — Kelsey Peters, of Piqua, was recently named to the College of Arts & Sciences dean’s list at the University of Cincinnati.

Mehta receives doctorate degree

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Prital Mehta, of Troy, recently received a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.

Mehta earned the Bays Family Service Award for demonstrating commitment of service to the profession of optometry and the community at large, which comes with a $500 monetary award.

Mehta is the daughter of Shital and Jiten Mehta. She is a graduate of Greenville High School and Wright State University.
