Pop-up pantry upcoming

TROY — The Miami County Food Insecurity Committee will be providing a contact-free pop-up pantry with Shared Harvest Foodbank from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27.

Food for 1,500 households will be available at the Miami County Fairgrounds, 650 N. County Road 25-A. Use the Harrison Street entrance.

In addition to the June food distribution, The Miami County Food Insecurity Committee regularly updates this list of Miami County emergency food resources, food panties, carryout meals, and other general assistance available to the public. The list can be found at http://go.osu.edu/miamifood.

The Miami County Food Insecurity Committee is chaired by Aimee Shannon of Health Partners Free Clinic and advised by Alisha Barton of Ohio State University Extension Miami County.

Medicare program offered

TIPP CITY — Understanding Medicare, or healthcare for that matter, can seem nearly impossible. Kate Johnsen, Medicare Resource Center, will unpack the basics of Medicare and explore ways to maximize your healthcare coverage and minimize your spending in this virtual class using the ZOOM platform.

• ABCs and Ds of Medicare — from 6-7 p.m. July 14

• Stretching Your Medicare Prescription Drug Dollars — 6-7 p.m. July 28

There is no charge, but registration is required. Register on the TMCS website at tmcomservices.org.

Piqua to resume water utility shut offs July 10

PIQUA – The Ohio EPA has lifted their order issued on March 31 to temporarily discontinue water utility shut offs. The order will officially be lifted and shut offs will resume on July 10.

City of Piqua customers can view their shut off date on their bill. The city provided a guide on its website at piquaoh.org, along with a list of organizations that provide utility payment assistance.
