West Milton police officer jailed on rape charges

MIAMI COUNTY — A West Milton police officer is currently being held in the Miami County Jail awaiting arraignment on three counts of first-degree felony rape.

Kevin Wright, 32, of West Milton, was incarcerated on the charges on Friday.

Wright was also a police officer in Covington prior to being employed at West Milton. A records request for his personnel file at the West Milton Police Department is pending.

On Monday, West Milton Police Department Chief Harry Busse said, “In anticipation of requests of this nature, and not learning of the indictment warrant until Friday, our law director is reviewing his personnel file to properly redact any information that is not public. I have asked their office to do this as expeditiously as possible.”
